meaningless

I never thought that it would come to this. I never thought it could. Somewhere in the shadows we lost our souls, lost our way, as life quietly paused to take its toll. Why the distance? Why the facade, when we have been closer than our faces could possibly deny? Were my words less eloquent than you required? Was my touch so soft that you'd dismiss? In all of your reaching and striving to be, within the midst of it all, was it so easy for you to forget me? Did the brisk wind of autumn manage to steal your breath away? Or was it the restless turning of emotion spinning insatiably like a pinwheel scathing your heart? I know the depths of Hades can erase a fragile love. Though I was certain what we shared was immune apparently I assumed this in my deluded, shaded, reasoning. But as daylight arrives and brightly glares upon the remnant of our love, I realize as my tears begin to fall… they are reflected in your eyes.
